In 1987, the UN Brundtland Commission defined sustainable development as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” The UN definition of sustainability is in consideration and motivation of SLN.

SLN is the signatory of UNFCCC Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action as of Q4 2018 as the first manufacturer around the globe ( See SLN commitment), UN Global Compact Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) as of 2017 and Social Labor Convergence Project (SLCP) since 2017.

Sustainability Assessments

SLN is supporting and using converged industry initiatives/tools such as SLCP, HIGG-INDEX and ZDHC to assess labor, health & safety, environmental and chemical performances at the facilities and aiming to minimize duplication effort. SLN Group of Companies are conducting/completing HIGG-INDEX  and SLCP tools once in a year and also hosting verification. In addition to its legally required wastewater tests, Dye House is conducting wastewater tests based on ZDHC guidelines twice a year.

SLN has been hosting/receiving about 10 regular brand assessments in each facility per year and posting the assessment reports in FFC platform. Furthermore; the facilities have been assessed by different type of certification parties in each year. 

Lean Manufacturing system is in place and regular assessments are conducted by the professionals to measure lean performance at the facilities.


Capacity Building

Awareness raising projects on women/workers empowerment, transparency and energy efficiency assessments.


SLN Group of Companies are certified by ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, GOTS, OCS, GRS, OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 and uses BCI certified cotton. About 58% of products are made by BCI, 3% GOTS and 2% GRS.
